I recommend not mixing up tire and oil change services. They are two different things. You rarely need new tires, but you need engine oil changes every 7,500 miles or so (see your owner’s manual). The best place for oil changes is your car dealer sometimes. They advertise $20 oil changes in many cases and you get OEM oil filters and better engine oil than the quick lube chains. They also know your vehicle better than any other independent or chain store shop.

Can the Dealer charge for oil change during the first free service for hero honda pleasure?
today, i took my hero honda pleasure for its first free service (out of the 6 free services provided by the company), and they charged me Rs. 205 for oil change and changing the brake light. Are they supposed to do that. Because they provide a oil change coupon after 3 free services. i have done 750kms till now. please advice

The dirty little secret is that these “Free” services are never free. Look at your bill. There is a charge for parts, oil & filter, along with charges for the bulb and labor to replace it. The only thing that is free is the labor for the routine service which was the oil change labor. All else is billable.

i already negotiate to the dealer, he gave me a very good price but if he adds some accessories such as ( back-up sensor or all weather floor mats, oil change coupon, gas coupon ), that would be perfect…

Many dealerships will add “service” coupons like oil changes for a year or two. They are usually 4 changes a year maximum. If you break it down, it’s around 100-150 a year. Gas coupons used to be offered when gas prices had skyrocketed!! (4/5 dollars gal.) As I recall it was something like a $500.00 card, but it was only good on certain brand name gas. You also may be able to get floor mats as an incentive to buy. But that is probably about it. Back up sensors are only available on certain models, and some are pretty expensive. If the model you chose has the “dealer option” (aftermarket dealer installed), and it doesn’t cost a great deal for they system and installation, they may offer you that also as an incentive to buy. I wouldn’t count on it. Oil change or gas may be the only extras they may give you. If they gave you a decent price for the vehicle, they may offer a little extra as a thank you for being a customer. That is what my dealership did…it was oil changes for 2 years.
